I think of the word 'Facilitator' as covering much of the work I do yet it is so very different for each project. Bringing together my experience as a director, performer and teacher, I manage and facilitate performance projects with wide-ranging participants, plan and deliver teacher training and develop and create events both small and large in scale. I have worked for organisations such as New Writing North, The National Theatre, Northern Stage, Greenfield Arts, Tin Arts, Juice Festival, and many schools and independent companies, looking at building confidence, and performances. Facilitation, to me, is creating a space where ideas and talents can flourish and I aim to do this in every project.
Story Team - an experiment in co-creating together whilst apart...
Story Team was an online storytelling project, supported by Durham County Council, with the aim of creating a brand new tale with families.
Each week, we set Story Missions and built a story together, week by week. You can view the first Story Mission in and the final story videos below.

"Ruth is my go to facilitator for creating work with young people of all ages. Her work empowers young people to say what they want to say and provides the skills they need to stand up and say it. Add to this passion, unwavering enthusiasm, attention to detail and A LOT of fun." - Susan Mulholland, Deputy Director of Participation at Northern Stage
